Sunday 11 October, 14:00 - Out of Competition Film Screening - Animated Documentaries program curated by Rudnik International Debut Documentary Film Festival (Russia)

   

For three years now, in the city of Sviyazhsk near Kazan, the International Festival of the Debut Documentary Film Rudnik has been held. All three years, in parallel with the festival, two schools open their doors: Documentary Film School and Documentary Animation School.The school of documentary animation is led by Dina Goder, Aleksandr Rodionov and Evgenia Zhirkova. For a week of intensive study, each of the groups of school participants manage to shoot their short animation documentary draft and most often these are personal stories. 

As European premiére at ITFF, the exclusive screening of the best animated documentary short films made as part of the Rudnik International Debut Documentary Film Festival.

 

THE DOCUMENTARIES 

 

Хорошая Плохая Злая (The Good, The Bad and The Evil) (Russia, 2018) directed by Sonya Gorya - Running Time 4 minutes

In 2013, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I want to tell you about my experience of life with this disease: everything good, bad, evil

 

 

Суп с лапшой (The Noodle Soup) (Russia, 2018) directed by Guzel Garipova - Running Time 2 minutes

It is a story about an old woman called Khatira passing secrets of making traditional Tatar noodles to her granddaughter while also reflecting on life. The film is based on a documentary interview and photos from a book "Recipes of Tatar happiness" by Alina Sadrieva, "Tamga" publishing, 2018.

 

 

 

Чай (Tea) (Russia, 2018) directed by Maria Kogan-Lerner - Running Time 1 minute

Dedicated to the particular qualities of the tea drinking in the neuropsychiatric boarding. The film based on the diary of Tatyana Vnukevich-Baghdasaryan and was shot as part of the School of Animated Documentary at the Rudnik festival.

 

 

Сеть (Network) (Russia, 2018) directed by Anastasia Medvedeva - Running Time 3 minutes

In Russia 11 antifascists are accused of organizing a terrorist group called «Network». After arrest they spoke of being beaten and tortured. This film is based on the diary and letters of one of them. 

 

Будь здорова (Bless you) (Russia, 2018) directed by Evgeniia Zhirkova - Running Time 3 minutes

The story of one love, the study of the inner world through animation and an attempt to compile a medical history. The film was shot as part of the weekly school of pre-resuscitation at the Rudnik festival. 

 


Свияжский дневник (The Sviyazhsk diary) (Russia, 2019) directed by Svetlana Demidova - Running Time 2 minutes

Several days spent in the animation workshop during the Rudnik festival, which took place on the Sviyazhsk peninsula. The plans were to make a film based on a book about Sviyazhsk, and it turned out to unexpectedly find Sviyazhsk in his own life and feel his complex life with different layers of time that are felt today. 

 

 

Приведения в Алтуфьево (Ghosts in Altufevo) (Russia, 2019) directed by Yana Isaenko - Running Time 3 minutes

This documentary and animation film - is story about friendship one of author of film and girl, who was foster daughter of Yuri Dmitriev and who stood in the center of the process.
